Sony Announces Movie Release Dates

After the epic hack of Sony Pictures, their movie studio is in need of some major blockbusters hits. In an effort to create buzz, Sony has just re-released their scheduled movie releases for the next few years. It is a re-release because Sony had already made some of these announcements. Here is a complete list of all their proposed movies:

The 5th Wave – 1/15/16
Grimsby – 3/4/16
Money Monster  – 4/8/16
The Angry Birds Movie – 5/20/16 (Really?)
The Shallows – 6/24/16
Ghostbusters – 7/15/16

ghostbusters, comedy, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthyNot a huge fan of reboots, but these ladies are hilarious, so I will give it a chance.

Sausage Party – 8/12/16
Patient Zero  – 9/2/16
The Magnificent Seven  – 9/23/16

Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, westernIt’s hard to be mad about this reboot, since the original is based off of Akira Kurosawa’s The Seven Samurai. So does that make this a triboot?

Inferno  – 10/16/16
Underworld 5  – 10/21/16

Kate BeckinsaleKate Beckinsale is back as Selene…please take my money.

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk – 11/11/16
Passengers  – 12/21/16

Chris Pratt, Jennifer LawrenceJennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt? Color me intrigued, and I know nothing about this movie. Jennifer Lawrence is Hollywood gold, while Pratt is on a roll.

Jumanji – 12/25/16

JumanjiThis is a movie that does not need a reboot. An absolute classic.

The Dark Tower  – 1/13/17

Stephen KingFor those that cyberstalk me, you know I love to read. I picked up the first three books of this series, but have been having a hard time getting through the first book. Although, one of Stephen King’s books did make one of my all-time lists…here.

Resident Evil 6  – 1/27/17 (Another? This would be perfect for Netflix.)
Bad Boys 3 – (Too little, too late.)
Baby Driver – 3/17/17
Get Smurfy – 3/31/17
Barbie – 6/2/17 (What?)
Uncharted – 6/30/17

Naughty Dog, movies, video gamesFans have been waiting a long time for this movie. The games were enjoyable, but Nathan Drake always felt like a ripoff of Indiana Jones.

Marvel’s Spider-Man – 7/28/17 (An actual triboot. Has there been a film franchise which has fallen further?)
The Equalizer 2– 9/29/17 (The first one was fun, but he is no John Wick.)

The Lamb – 12/8/17
Animated Spider-Man – 7/20/18

Bad Boys 4 – 7/3/19 (What if 3 tanks like Fantastic Four or ASM 2? Be careful guaranteeing multiple movies.)

So which one excite you? Leave a comment below and let me know which are a must see.
